Deckhand Tyler Mooney
Tyler spent the first 18 years of his life in Seattle, WA, enjoying the outdoors any way he could. He skied, hiked, camped, played competitive soccer, spent time fly fishing, mountain biking, dog sledding, and doing any other challenging or thrilling activity. He then attended the University of San Diego, spent time in Ireland studying abroad, and graduated with a degree in finance. He then spend the next three years in San Diego working in finance as an investment analyst. With enough time spent in a cubicle, he decided it was time to change things up. His desire to leave this environment led him to travel and work in for six months in Sydney, Australia. Now that he has returned home to the Pacific North West, he is ready for another adventure!
Tyler has a long-term connection to Alaska through his family. His uncle and grandfather were both tugboat captains who hauled barges up and down the coastline from Seattle to Alaska. In the 1940’s, his great grandfather’s family owned a salmon cannery in Haines, AK where his father spent his college summers gutting, cleaning, and prepping salmon. He is excited to carry on his family’s tradition exploring the beautiful waters of Alaska!
